| Sweetwater
is a likely place to have a monthly “Trade” day
operation since the nearest city hosting a monthly event is
150+ miles away. I20 crosses Sweetwater on the south where
interstate traffic has created a mecca of restaurants, hotels
and bed/breakfasts. Sweetwater has long since been known for
the “World’s Largest Rattlesnake Round-up in the
World”, the WWll Wasp Museum, the famous Mustang Bowl
(home of state winning Mustangs and Sammy Baugh), Newman Park
and the Nolan County Coliseum-Annex-Area, Texas Theater and
early 1900 City Auditorium. Trade Days is located in the large
“Walls Factory” where 150 vendors show their wares
in an enclosed heated and air conditioned building with great
restrooms, visiting areas and loads of parking. The interstate
allows for easy on/off exits, and the “Trade Days”
area is easily seen.
Each month there are more and more vendors offering a large
variety of home-made crafts, fads/fashion items, iron works,
rustic décor, vintage and antique pieces, pottery,
barn wood furniture/accessories, current hobbies, car/home
fix-ups, cosmetics, toys and tradition/unusual “fair”
eats and drinks.
Each month the vendor and visitor attendance increase, and
there is plenty of room in a connecting building to accommodate
lots of expansion.
Make “Sweetwater Trade Days” apart of your vacation
trip or reward your family with a week-end outing in the “rattlesnake”
environment of Central/West Texas.
